Imphal, the 21st June, 1974.

                   No. 60/21/72-For- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 64 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972), the Governor of Manipur is pleased to make the following Rules, namely:-

1. Short title, extent and commencement - (i) These rules may be called the Wild Life Protection (Manipur) Rules, 1974.

(2) They extend to the whole of the State of Manipur.

(3) They shall come into force at once.
 

2. Definitions- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:-

(a) "Act" means the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 (Central Act 53 of 1972);

(b) "Board" means Wild Life Advisory Board constituted under sub-section (I) of section 6 of the Act;

(c) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Board;

(d) "Form" means a form appended under these rules;

(e) "license" means a license granted under this Chapter;

(f) "licensee" means a holder of a license;

(g) "section" means a section of the Act;

(h) "Schedule" means a Schedule to the Act;
